Debbie Pippard Barrow Cadbury TrustThis project is about visibility, opportunity, representation, and justice, We are grateful to Barrow Cadbury Trust and brap for believing in our vision and helping us build a stronger, fairer Birmingham.

Gabriel Barcaru BRIDCONJoin the Romanian business community in Birmingham
The Romanian community is one of the largest in the UK; it is vibrant, resilient, and growing. Yet, many businesses and voices remain underrepresented. Let’s change this.
Mapping Our Community
Rooted and Thriving builds on the continuous line of Birmingham’s industrial and creative legacy — from its historic canals and industrial revolution roots to the craftsmanship of the Jewellery Quarter. Through this project, DOR aims to integrate the energy, resilience, and innovation of the Romanian community into the city’s evolving story. It’s about continuity, not disruption — ensuring Romanian entrepreneurs are not only present, but represented and contributing meaningfully to Birmingham’s future
By mapping our presence, we’re not just creating a tool — we’re telling a story of identity, contribution, and belonging.
This is about visibility, pride, and progress. This project will:
- Increase economic visibility
- Provide accessible resources
- Strengthen community pride and unity
- Encourage intercultural exchange
