May Day
Labor Day (Ziua Muncii) is an annual holiday to honor workers across Romania. It is also celebrated in many countries worldwide.
Mother’s Day (Ziua Mamei) is a special day for mothers and mother figures in Romania on the first Sunday of May. Many Romanians also celebrate Father’s Day on the following Sunday.
From 1866 until 1937, the day ofMay 10th was uninterruptedly the modern Romania’s National Day, and has been remained associated with the Romanian Monarchy. On May 10th 1877, the Independence of the country proclaimed a day before was ratified in Parliament.
The National Day of Romania has been celebrated on May 10, August 23, and finally, December 1, at different periods in the past.
